"Ugh... Why does my head hurt?"

I wake up face down in the dirt. I must have hit that person who pulled out in front of me on the highway and ended up out of my car on the grass. Wait a second... this isn't right. Where am i?

What is this place? I am on a very small island with nothing but water for miles! In the far distance I can see another island. When my head feels better I will try swimming there. For now I have to sit down. This is too much to think about right now.
After sitting down for a few hours pondering my existence, I've decided to go ahead and take that swim. If I am to survive I need shelter. There is nothing here on this tiny island. I must move on. I swim to the nearest island.

It is just as barren as the island I came from. There is nothing here either except grass. I have to find food and water! I must swim to the next island.

This one has sand and more barren dirt with scattered grass. I am getting rather tired at this point. Afterall, I'm in decent shape but I've never swam this much in my life. In the distance I can see the largest island yet. Maybe it has something more than grass!

I am utterly tired and spent. I get to the island and there is nothing here but a few flowers and grass. I collapse from exhaustion and just lay there staring into the sky.

I wonder if my wife and kids know I am gone? I still don't know why I am here, or even how I got here. The last thing I remember is that I was on the highway in my car going to work on a normal morning. Someone pulls out in front of me while I am doing 60MPH and that is the last thing I remember. I take a nap as the memories of my life go past in my mind.

I wake up a couple hours later and the sun is starting to go down. At least I won't freeze here, it's too warm.

The sun has gone down. It's getting dark and I still have nothing. While I am looking up at the stars that are starting to appear in the night sky, I hear a noise behind me. Strange... There wasn't anything on this little island before. I turn to see what the noise is and I see a gigantic spider crawling along the coast a few dozen yards in front of me. What is going on here?! I must be going mad. Spiders this big don't actually exist!

OH CRAP! IT SAW ME!

I run for my life as it chases it me. I run out of land just seconds later. I turn around and see it still chasing me. I jump into the water and start swimming. There is no destination planned. Getting away from this monster is all I can think about. As I swim I see another small island in the distance.

I reach the small island after swimming for my life, having left the spider behind. I guess spiders can't swim very well thank goodness. As I drag myself onto the sand I see someone else on this island. How can there be two people out here? Looking closer I can see bits of flesh missing and their straight legged walk. This is a zombie! Thankfully it hasn't seen me yet.

As I look over to the far edge of the island I see something in the water.

OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT?!?!!?! IT'S COMING RIGHT AT ME!!!

I run for my life and jump back into the water. As I escape with my life, I hear a hissing noise... SSSSSSsssSSssssssss...

I am exhausted but the adrenaline pumping through my veins keeps me going, at least for now.

As I'm swimming I see another island. I swim towards it. But it too, has a zombie on it. None of this happened during the daytime!! Nighttime is dangerous! I take a small turn while swimming and head for a different but close island.

I finally reach the island as the dawn of my second day is starting.

There is an enormous spider on this island but I am too exhausted to run. I sit down as far away as I can and hope it doesn't see me.

I watch the sun come up, praying the spider still doesn't see me.

Eventually the spider wanders over to me but doesn't attack. Is this a friendly spider? At this point I don't care, I'm too tired to care.

I collapse in a heap and fall asleep as memories of my previous life drift past in my mind.
There was nothing on that island so I swam to the nearest island.

I quickly realized there was nothing here either. However, there were some bits of rotten meat laying on the ground. Presumably something had died and this was all that was left. As I have started to get hungry I pick them up and search out the next island.

After watching the sky I notice that all the clouds float in the same direction. This will help me from going around in circles. I see a small island in the distance but it too, has nothing on it.

I see something far in the distance...

This is the biggest island I've found yet. It even has sugar cane! However, there is still nothing useful on this island. I break off the sugar cane with my bare hands and hang on to it. Maybe I can do something with it later.

As I continue to swim, the sun goes down. I have no choice but to continue swimming. I've already found out that Bad Things™ come out at night. I don't think I could do anything against zombies, gigantic spiders, and whatever those hissing things were! I must swim...

The sun sets on my second day in this world.

I swim almost through the entire night. I've learned how to float using no energy so I can rest without getting on the dangerous land that passes by every once in a while. There are still no islands with anything on them. I must swim for my life.

I come upon this large island. It has trees! If I was on land I'd have jumped for joy.

Dawn breaks on my third day as I approach this new island.

I am overjoyed to see trees for this means I can make some simple tools to help me live.

I break sticks and pieces of wood from the trees with my bare hands. After gathering all the wood I can, the first thing I make is a simple table to help me craft other things I will need to survive.

I now have a crude wooden pickaxe. I start chipping at the stone and rocks. Eventually I get enough raw material to fashion a crude stone pickaxe by using other rocks to sharpen a rock attached to a stick.

By this time, the sun is beginning to go down again. I've made myself a little home on this island and I don't think I'll be leaving for a while. I have no real house or anything to survive the night. I am scared that when the sun goes down, those horrifying monsters will come out and eat me as a midnight snack.

I crawl into the hole I've dug during the previous day and block the entrance so that I am safe.

It is completely dark in this hole I've made. I can hear the monsters outside, thirsting for my blood. I am almost starving at this point. But if I eat this rotten flesh, I fear it may make me sick. If I can't find real food soon I'll have to eat it raw anyway. I cry myself to sleep in the pitch black darkness of my temporary home and await the next the morning.

The light finally begins to shine again. I continue my digging, I must find coal for torches and iron for better tools

Some of the perils of digging include flooding your mine. After I mined this block of stone the ocean above me started to flood in. I quickly stopped it up with more stones.

I dig all day. I eventually have to eat the rotten flesh I saved earlier because I was starving. It made me sick but at least I'm not starving anymore. As the hours wear on, night falls again. Because I have no torches, I've had to make a mine shaft straight up so that during the day, sunlight comes down to light up the darkness in my mine. I stare anxiously up, watching occasional stars go past, waiting for dawn again so I can begin my work. I can hear the noises the monsters make topside. They are just waiting to eat me!

I should have covered that hole... A spider climbed down it and attacked me. I was just barely able to fight it off without dying. Now I am sitting here bleeding and getting hungry waiting for the daylight...

As I continue to wait for dawn to brighten my mine, a skeleton holding a bow and arrow falls down the same hole that the spider did. I run up to it and punch it. It gets knocked back into a little trench I had dug earlier as part of a staircase I was making to dig deeper. It can't get out and just makes terrifying noises at me as I still wait for dawn.

While I am still waiting for dawn I venture towards the trench with the hopes of killing this monster without it attacking me because it is stuck in the trench. When I peek over the edge it raises its bow and fires a single arrow directly at my head. Blackness envelopes me, it's over...
